About Mary

Hello, and good to meet you! I look forward to being your writer, editor, speechwriter or ghostwriter. Let me tell you a bit about myself.

I have always loved words. Since being a kid I’ve enjoyed working and playing with words to make their combinations at times clearer, more beautiful, more amusing, or more “just right.” Throughout my professional roles, I have consistently contributed a knack for capturing meaning with the right words.

I’ve written for executives, small businesses, NGOs, government, academics, authors and many individuals.  For each project, the satisfaction comes from embracing the challenge of what needs to be communicated and crafting the words that meet that need—in a way that best matches the client, the audience, and the context.

Since clients often ask me to write one type of product, and then return to me for other types of writing, I’ve successfully created or edited many magazine and newsletter articles, profiles, reports, speeches, policy documents, presentations, funding proposals, memos, summaries, podcast scripts, memoir chapters and marketing materials.

When I am not working with clients, I love swimming, dessert, and family outings with my husband and daughter. I also love reading non-fiction, especially about parenting and science-based perspectives on human nature. And I believe fervently that chocolate makes everything better.

Communicating clearly and effectively is challenging, necessary — and extremely rewarding.

Let me help you find the right words for your spoken or written communications.
